Stannah’s IT room
kind of project: Interior design
Funky fabric + unique bespoke furniture for everyday use
GUS was set a challenge by Stannah’s IT department to make their meeting rooms stand out by using funky fabric on their seating and providing unique bespoke furniture.
The kind of challenge we appreciate!
We went on a hunt for fabric with the following specifications:
- Ideal for everyday use in a busy meeting room
We chose a fabric called Patternistas which can be found on the Panaz website
Panaz joined forces with Creative Studio Patternistas to create a unique, vibrant new print collection with an exciting take on the natural world. For a little bit of background; Patternistas was formed in 2016 by husband and wife team Chris and Suzanne Carpenter. Heavily influenced from an early age by the rich visual cultures of Asia and Africa, the duo used this background to produce designs that stimulate the senses and put a smile on people’s faces.
We thought it would be the perfect match for a family company like Stannah, and the print ticked all our boxes.
When we asked for unique furniture, GUS knew immediately what would look fantastic in the meeting room; our bespoke living hinge table & stools.
Our living hinge is a flexible piece of plywood made from the same material as the two rigid pieces it connects to, rather than cloth, leather, or any other flexible material. It is typically thinned or cut to allow the rigid pieces to bend along the line of the hinge. This has allowed us to make all distinctive styles and sizes of furniture to accommodate any type of seating/table, whether it be for an Office, Pub, Restaurant, or even for home furnishings.
